Manage Lab Order Details
From the log book, navigate to the lab order detail screen by clicking on the lab order number link. The detail page is broken into multiple sections:
Patient Summary
The patient summary section details patient information. Users can view and upload patient attachments and view the patient information report.
To upload an attachment, choose the attachment type and navigate to the local machine to pick the file. Click the Save button.
To view attachments, click on the view icon and then the link to the attachment name.
Lab Order Summary
The lab order summary section details top level data about the lab order. Users can change the assigned provider for the lab order and view reports related to the lab order including the requisition, lesion sheet, lab order summary, and pathology results.
Lab Order Specimen
The lab order specimen section provides detailed information about each specific specimen. Users can use the action buttons to release results, notify the patient, schedule a follow up, close a case, edit the specimen details, view specimen history, view package manifest and advanced actions.
Releasing results allows the patient to see their result documents from the patient web portal. Users can choose a date to allow patients to view lab results.

Close cases allows users to close individual specimens with a specific resolution
Edit Specimen allows users to edit ICD 10 and follow up recommendations based on data from the lab results
Specimen history displays all steps the specimen has traveled through in the process
If a specimen has been shipped to a lab, the Package Manifest button is available. This allows users to see where and when a specimen was shipped to a laboratory.
If a patient is notified or a follow up is scheduled, details about those events will appear in Patient Notifications and Scheduled Follow Ups.
